Temppeliaukio Church

A remarkable place. In the 1960s this church was built in a residential neighborhood in Helsinki. Most of the volume of the place is carved out of solid rock; concrete rafters float the roof above, letting slanting light sneak into the space. The effect is cozy, and also uplifting.
